The fact that the Jedi coup dovetailed with the evil conspiracy coup was a nice touch as well. Filling up nine books requires a lot of padding when the stories are sometimes a bit slim.īut what I will say is that the Jedi coup against Daala.which I expected to take up an entire novel.was handled well and did NOT take up an entire novel. Every book in this series could have been half (maybe two-thirds?) as long as it ended up to be. There weren't the jaw-droppingly shocking (shocking because it's just bad writing) reversals of plotlines in this book.like the ones in Troy Denning's 'Vortex.' And Boba Fett shows up in 'Conviction', even if he doesn't have a large role in the story.Īs is the usual in these books, the subplots clog up the book a lot of the time. And that's quite a compliment coming from me. It's not wonderful, but it's better than the last two books of his I read in this series.
